About Minecraft Education
Minecraft Education is an education-focused build of the block-building sandbox from developer Mojang, aimed at classrooms and structured learning rather than casual play alone. The release is distributed as one large package, so it is worth checking your device's free space and system before you begin an installation. Built Around Learning The app is filed under the education category, which reflects its intent: a familiar open-ended building environment repurposed for teaching. Learners and instructors work in the same world, using construction, exploration and creative problem solving as the basis for lessons rather than as a separate add-on layer. A Large Single Download At 1013.9 MB, this is a heavy download by mobile standards, and the installed footprint will demand a device with generous free storage. Slow or metered connections may make the transfer lengthy, so preparing space and a stable network ahead of time saves frustration once the package unpacks. Release And Version Details The current release is 1.26.32.0, published on 2026-08-04. Users tracking updates should compare against this version number, since classroom deployments often need to stay matched so that everyone joins the same worlds and sessions without mismatched builds. Device Compatibility The build requires Android 8.0 or newer. Devices running older releases of the system will not install it, while newer devices meet the stated baseline. Because the app is resource-hungry, hardware with more memory and processing headroom will provide a smoother experience during larger worlds and group sessions.
