About Minecraft Education
Minecraft Education is an education-focused build of the block-building sandbox from developer Mojang, aimed at classrooms and structured learning rather than casual play alone. The release is distributed as one large package, so it is worth checking your device's free space and system before you begin an installation.
Built Around Learning
The app is filed under the education category, which reflects its intent: a familiar open-ended building environment repurposed for teaching. Learners and instructors work in the same world, using construction, exploration and creative problem solving as the basis for lessons rather than as a separate add-on layer.
A Large Single Download
At 1013.9 MB, this is a heavy download by mobile standards, and the installed footprint will demand a device with generous free storage. Slow or metered connections may make the transfer lengthy, so preparing space and a stable network ahead of time saves frustration once the package unpacks.
Release And Version Details
The current release is 1.26.32.0, published on 2026-08-04. Users tracking updates should compare against this version number, since classroom deployments often need to stay matched so that everyone joins the same worlds and sessions without mismatched builds.
Device Compatibility
The build requires Android 8.0 or newer. Devices running older releases of the system will not install it, while newer devices meet the stated baseline. Because the app is resource-hungry, hardware with more memory and processing headroom will provide a smoother experience during larger worlds and group sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much free space should I have before installing this app?
The download itself is 1013.9 MB, and the unpacked install plus any saved worlds will need additional room on top of that. Make sure your device has well over a gigabyte available so the installation completes cleanly and you still have space left for worlds and updates.
Which Android versions can run this app?
The listing states a minimum of Android 8.0 or newer. Devices on that release or above meet the requirement, while anything older cannot install the build. If you are unsure of your system version, check your device settings before downloading, since the file is large enough that a failed install is an inconvenience.
What version am I getting with this listing?
The version provided is 1.26.32.0, dated 2026-08-04. Keep this number in mind if you need to match an existing installation, such as when a classroom or group all needs to join the same worlds and must therefore be running the same build.
Is this a general Minecraft release or something different?
It is an education-focused variant, filed under the education category and published by Mojang. It uses the same block-building sandbox but is positioned for teaching and structured learning environments rather than purely recreational play.
Will it run well on my phone?
Any device meeting the required Android version can install it, but the 1013.9 MB package and the demands of loading and rendering worlds mean that more capable hardware with additional memory and storage will give a noticeably smoother experience.
